Communications Blockset 2.5, which extends the Simulink® system-level design environment provides more than 150 blocks to model the physical and link layer of communication systems. New algorithms and wireless system models enable communications systems engineers to develop more accurate system-level simulations and specifications, reducing design risk for wireless, broadband, broadcasting, and satellite systems and semiconductors
With these new features, communications engineers can now simulate performance-limiting component interactions earlier in the development process. As a result, they can create system-level models that provide clear specifications for implementation in hardware and/or software. Simulink also accelerates development by allowing systematic testing before building the device or system, resulting in faster time-to-market and lower risk of design failure. The latest version contains a new RF Impairments library, which allows users to model the impact of nonlinearity, phase noise, and other RF effects on baseband communications design
