Cranes Software the Only Indian Scientific Software Products Company to Achieve SEI CMM Level-5
Bangalore, August 2, 2004: Cranes Software International Ltd., a global scientific and engineering software solutions provider, today announced that the company has been assessed at SEI's SW CMM Level 5. The scope of the assessment covers the software product development and services for scientific, engineering and enterprise applications of Cranes Software and its subsidiary Systat Software. TUV Rheinland (India) Private Limited lead the assessment alongwith a few trained members from Cranes Software.
The method of assessment used was CBA - IPI (CMM Based Appraisal for Internal Process Improvement), as prescribed by SEI. This assessment included projects and products in the area of Scientific, Engineering and Enterprise Solutions. The distinction is more unique considering Cranes Software's strong product focus - a segment where very few companies in India have ventured and succeeded.

Ramesh, the Lead Appraiser, TUV Rheinland (India) Private Limited, added "Achieving Level 5 status through SEI's rigorous process of assessment requires a high degree of control in the Project Management activities. Cranes Software provided adequate confidence as well as evidence to the assessment team that resulted in this most cherished status by many companies."
