Cranes Software and The MathWorks Announces the Availability of Simpowersystems 4 for Power System Development
This product along with the MATLAB suite of products are available through Cranes Software in India
Bangalore, April 26th, 2005:
Cranes Software International, a global scientific and engineering products and solutions provider along with The MathWorks today announced the availability of SimPowerSystems 4, which enables engineers in a host of industries to use Model-Based Design to model and simulate electrical circuits and power systems within Simulink®. Simpowersystems 4 along with the MATLAB suite of products are available through Cranes Software extensive dealership network and offices in India.
SimPowerSystems 4 includes extensive new application libraries, including electric drives, flexible AC transmission systems (FACTS), and distributed resources. These new libraries offer mechanical and electrical engineers advanced tools for building richer, more comprehensive models and simulations. As a result SimPowerSystems reduces the time and cost of evaluating design options for detailed electromechanical systems, so that users can more thoroughly explore alternatives and reduce development time.
The new SimPowerSystems libraries contain more than 150 blocks distributed in eight sub-libraries, including electric sources, electric machinery, and three-phase components. The libraries represent both simple and complex electric components, such as resistors, inductors, capacitors, and AC and DC electric drives.
According to Pradeep Kumar, Senior Vice President, Cranes Software International Limited, "SimPowerSystems 4 leverages the power of Simulink to provide an efficient environment for multidomain modeling and controller design. Now, engineers can model the generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption of electrical power, as well as its conversion into mechanical power, all within Simulink."
SimPowerSystems 4 joins SimMechanics and SimDriveline as the latest addition to The MathWorks physical modeling tools, which provide electromechanical solutions and multidomain capabilities for complex modeling and simulation. Together these tools create a single powerful, simulation environment, offering a significant advantage over cosimulating with different specialized tools.
