Cranes Software launches Japanese language version of SYSTAT 11

Localized version release to further strengthen position in significant market


Bangalore, September 20, 2005: Cranes Software International Ltd., a global scientific and engineering software solutions provider, has announced the introduction of the Japanese language version of its acclaimed statistical analysis software SYSTAT 11. This new language version will now reach users in Japan with a local language graphic user interface, online helpdesk support and translated technical manuals.

This launch provides the opportunity to further penetrate the significant user base within the second largest software market globally through a value-added offering. This is the second localized software launch by Cranes in Japan, following the previous release of the SYSTAT 10.2 in Japanese.

Speaking at the launch, Asif Khader, CEO, Cranes Software said, "The launch of the Japanese version of SYSTAT 11 takes forward our objective of establishing a global business with a strong localized feel in each of our focus geographies. This model of aligning with our local partner for language version development has worked well for us, and we hope to extend it further in Japan and several other countries. We plan to release more language versions of our proprietary software to penetrate deeper into the scientific and engineering user bases and communities worldwide."


Growth through localized business strategies

The Japanese version of SYSTAT 11 takes forward Cranes' objective of providing a strong local flavour to its global business. The Company has established a widespread presence in important business regions across the globe; local market driven strategies in each geography; and a pipeline of localized software to penetrate deeper into language-sensitive markets.

Success at driving demand from several key markets has led to ongoing financial outperformance delivered by the Company since inception, and particularly since the initiation of IPR ownership over the last five years. Revenues of Cranes' proprietary software products touched US$ 30 million last year, which constituted over 80% of the business.

Backing Cranes' focused acquisition strategy has been a well-structured, post-acquisition software development and IP evolution process. Dedicated R&D teams are focused on evolving the Company's proprietary software products on a defined roadmap. New versions, with significantly enhanced features, have been launched regularly as a result, creating greater demand-pull from existing and new users.

SYSTAT's core development team is headed by world renowned statistician Prof. T. Krishnan. This team comprises of key researchers and statistical analysts who continuously work towards enhancing products to provide specialized domain expertise to their customers.

SYSTAT 11 provides statisticians and professional researchers advanced statistical and graphical capabilities. SYSTAT 11 has several new features such as the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) technique and Quality Analysis that allow the product to be marketed to specific user groups.
