Cranes Software to merge subsidiary EMRC India with itself
- To reorganize and restructure NISA business in India to derive optimal benefits
Bangalore, May 23, 2006: Cranes Software International Ltd., a global scientific and engineering software solutions provider, has decided to merge the operations of its wholly owned subsidiary, Engineering Mechanics Research India Limited (EMRC India), with itself from April 1, 2006. EMRC, the developer of NISA suite of products and a pioneer in the field of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE), was previously acquired by Cranes in May 2005 for US$ 1.5 million. The acquisition process has now been completed.
Announcing the merger, Asif Khader, Managing Director, Cranes Software International said, "Following the merger, Cranes will be in a position to expand NISA's traditional client relationships in India, offer a new CAE R&D services practice globally to our customers.. We will also be able to take advantage of the Cranes' brand equity to attract high quality talent"
Post-acquisition initiatives
Following the acquisition, Cranes has leveraged EMRC's domain experience and its team of 40 people comprising scientists, technology architects and software engineers to enhance visibility in the targeted market segment. This has resulted in significant expansion of revenues from India-centric business in this space, and is expected to create global upsides in the going forward period as per plan. Cranes has also continued to invest in further development of the core NISA product since the acquisition. It has also launched CAE R&D services which offers complex solutions in the computer aided engineering (CAE) space within automotive, aerospace, energy & power, civil, electronics and sporting goods industries. The practice now has a team of consultant engineers with the experience of more than 100 real life projects.
